Meet Our Shelter Star!
Nugget 324825 Nugget is a loving three year old medium hair cat that came to the Animal Humane Society back in May. He was brought in by a neighbor of his owner, after they had abandoned their residence and had been gone for a month. On May 24th, we noticed he was sneezing. Nugget was treated for an upper respiratory infection through May 31st. Since that time, we have not noticed any more sneezing. Because he was not neutered when he came in, we performed a sterilization surgery on May 19th. Nugget tested negative for feline leukemia and received prophylactic doses of pyrantel (a dewormer) and revolution (a topical flea and ear mite preventative) on May 14th. We also noted that he has a slight underbite and some mild dental tartar. We recommend a dental cleaning at his adopter’s expense. Nugget has been in the Animal Humane Society’s Golden Valley Location for over 3 months, patiently waiting for his new owner to come find him. We feel he may be getting passed over because we have him in Cat Room A, our colony room for cats that have completed treatment for upper respiratory infections. If you think Nugget might be a good fit for your family, please come in and visit with him. |
